Welsh Singer, Tom Jones, Live at Market Rasen Racecourse

On Saturday, August 16th, 2025, the inimitable Tom Jones will be performing live after racing at Market Rasen. The picturesque racecourse is the venue for a long-awaited live show from one of Britain’s best-loved singers as part of his summer tour.

Jones is returning to Market Rasen for the first time since 2015. He will be performing a full headline set, the show including some of his biggest hits such as Delilah, What’s New Pussycat and It’s Not Unusual. A terrific summer evening is on the cards with Jones’ performance complimented by some fine racing on the track.

One of the most celebrated singers globally shares his summer tour with Market Rasen racegoers on August 16th. Those attending can take in six races on the turf before what promises to be a hugely triumphant show amid a wonderful summer evening atmosphere.

Tom Jones and Summer Racing Timings & Location

Tom Jones fans and racegoers at Market Rasen alike can take in both an amazing show, and a great early summer evening of racing. You can get to Market Rasen racecourse via the main station which is only one mile away. Market Rasen has some great facilities to take advantage of. Various enclosures and stands are available to book, along with hospitality areas and restaurants. The stage will be located right in front of the grandstands.

Timings

Key times for Tom Jones live after racing at Market Rasen are:

  • Gates open at 3:15pm
  • First race is due off at 5:15pm
  • Last race is due off at 8:03pm
  • Tom Jones live is due to start at 8:45pm

Tom Jones will be on stage for almost two hours. The racecourse is closed from 11:30pm and the show starts straight after the final race is run. The live event stage is in front of the stands on the lawn and can’t be missed. Just follow the sound and the lights!

Live Racing Before Tom Jones at Market Rasen

Market Rasen is famous for its summer jumps racing. Once again, a terrific afternoon and evening is planned on the track before Tom Jones’ live performance. Six races have been planned. You can get information on all the runners and riders in your racecourse, or via the screens around the venue. The full racing line-up for the action on August 16th is:

  • Race 1 (5:15) – 2-mile, 4-furlong mares’ maiden hurdle
  • Race 2 (5:50) – 2-mile novices’ hurdle
  • Race 3 (6:23) – 2-mile, 1-furlong handicap chase
  • Race 4 (6:53) – 2-mile, 5-furlong handicap chase
  • Race 5 (7:28) – 2-mile, 7-furlong handicap hurdle
  • Race 6 (8:03) – 2-mile, 2-furlong handicap hurdle

Four of the races on the night are run over hurdles, the smaller obstacles. The other two are staged over fences, the larger obstacles. All races will finish right in front of the stands to ensure a great view for all. Be sure to get down to the rails for an even closer look at the equine stars of the show.

Once the presentations are over for the final race and the jockeys have weighed in, all eyes are on the main stage with Tom Jones due up there at approximately 8:45pm.
