Returning for 2026 is the ever-popular Newmarket Nights series of events. A summer extravaganza, this series combines evening horse racing with live music at the July Course in Newmarket, Suffolk, otherwise known as the home of British horse racing. Usually staged on Friday evenings from June to August, Newmarket Nights is one of the most popular attractions associated with British racing.
What Newmarket Nights Are All About

Full information is given before each event when tickets are purchased. For a typical, balmy Newmarket Nights experience, expect the gates to open sometime in mid-afternoon, around 2:30 to 3:00pm, with Flat racing taking place across the evening from around 4:00 or 5:00pm.
After the final race is over, a headline music act will perform on the big stage, right in front of the stands, offering a full set, lights, and everything else you’d expect with any concert around the country. Live performances usually begin around 20 minutes after the final race, lasting for around an hour and a half. Newmarket brings together what amounts to a mini-festival vibe, with so much to entertain people all afternoon and evening. Betting, live racing, bars, food, and a proper full-length headline music act performing live in front of thousands.
The atmosphere is usually brilliant at Newmarket Nights. Staged outdoors with standing areas near the stage and grandstands, there are licensed bars and a smart casual dress code. Expect to see 20,000+ people, partying away and creating an unforgettable experience. Basically, this is horse racing and live music in one ticket, a rare mix of sports and proper summer outdoor musical entertainment.
