This year, an all-new racing initiative has been launched with the aim of attracting younger audiences to Britain’s racecourses. Friday Night Live, staged on ARC’s all-weather tracks, has been developed in conjunction with ITV Racing and Invades, specialists in student events. Staged between January and March, the initiative was designed to bring a broader demographic to racing, with nights including increased prize money, live TV coverage, live music and other on-course entertainment.
After a terrific start at Newcastle, Southwell hosted a brilliant Friday Night Live event which featured the Flat racing debut of superstar jumper Constitution Hill, with bulging crowds and busy entries for all races.Friday Night Live is the cornerstone of a broader effort to reinvent how racing is presented to the public, to people of all ages. The series focuses on creating a fun and welcoming environment, especially for those visiting a racecourse for the first time.

The Arena Racing Company owns several racetracks, including Newcastle, Southwell and Wolverhampton. These three tracks host the 2026 Friday Night Live events, and are expected to host once again in 2027.
The three racecourses offer a good spread of opportunities throughout Britain, and with larger than normal crowds in attendance, these tracks should benefit later in the summer with many first timers feeding back that they intend to visit the tracks later in the year.
