Long-time collaborators in musical theatre, pop and classical tunes Ball and Boe perform live at Newmarket Racecourse on Friday, August 15th, 2025, on the July Course. British horse racing headquarters welcomes Michael Ball and Alfie Boe for a terrific night of music after the racing action is over. The beloved British duo take to the stage straight after racing for an evening of chart-topping, multi-million-selling songs and entertainment.
Ball & Boe are synonymous with the West End, but now they bring their show to a summer’s day of racing action at the track. The duo are also amidst a full arena tour, showcasing some of their best songs. Newmarket racegoers and fans of the singers can see them in all their glory following a fine day of turf action.
Ball & Boe and July Course Racing Timings & Location
If you’re heading off to Newmarket to watch the fabulous Ball & Boe can also partake in a classy summer’s day at the races beforehand. Head to Newmarket Racecourses and follow the signs to the July Course.
The July Course, as long as Newmarket’s other track the Rowley Mile, features some wonderful facilities and views. Booking the Premier Enclosure means getting the best views of the parade ring and the winning line, while you can also head to the Garden Enclosure, the Champions Lawn or the Grandstands.
Timings
Race and show timings for Ball & Boe live at Newmarket are:
- Gates open at 3:15pm
- First race is due off at 5:15pm
- Last race is due off at 8:00pm
- Ball & Boe live is due to start at 8:15pm
The popular duo are due on stage four around 1½ hours, the show due to finish at approximately 9:45pm. The start and finish times for the live performance depend on the final race, which may overrun slightly. You can’t miss the event stage on the July Course. The stage setup will be situated within the Premier Enclosure, between the grandstands and facing the track.
Horse Racing Action Before Ball & Boe
Those visiting for Ball & Boe Live also get the bonus of a great day at the races. Newmarket, the home of racing in Britain, has some top action scheduled before the singers take the stage. There are six races planned. You can find information on all the runners and riders in the official racecard or online. The full racecard on August 15th is:
- Race 1 (5:15 pm) – 7-furlong novice stakes
- Race 2 (5:52 pm) – 1-mile fillies’ novice stakes
- Race 3 (6:25 pm) – 1-mile handicap
- Race 4 (7:00 pm) – 1-mile handicap
- Race 5 (7:30 pm) – 1-mile, 2-furlong handicap
- Race 6 (8:00 pm) – 6-furlong handicap
You can see all the action unfold in front of the stands. Commentary and large TV screens are available in all areas, as are bookmaking and Tote facilities for betting. Once the presentations have been made for the last race of the evening, Ball & Boe will enter the stage within the Premier Enclosure.
