Live after racing on Friday, July 24th, 2026, prepare for a night of pure effervescence as Ministry of Sound make an appearance. Rest assured: this isn’t just an ordinary DJ set? Some of the best-known dance anthems ever heard will be showcased, reconceptualised by a massively talented 30-piece orchestra. Legendary tracks from such greats as Dario G, Faithless, Fatboy Slim and Darude can be experienced during a night of awesome sound and light – and all after a great evening’s horse racing.
The music starts as soon as our equine stars have finished strutting their stuff, with your ticket offering access to the racing and the Ministry of Sound Classical show.
Ministry of Sound Classical and Sandown Racing Timings & Location
Those attending Sandown to dance and sing along to some of the best dance tunes ever produced get to do so in front of one of the best backdrops in British sport. Sandown Park, close to Esher railway station, is easily accessible and is only around 25 minutes from London Waterloo.
Sandown’s prominence within British horse racing is mirrored in its facilities. You can attend the Grandstand & Paddock area, get a hospitality package or head into the Premier Enclosure. The Premier offers the closest view of the horses, while the stage will be placed in front of the grandstand. Race and music timings for Ministry of Sound Classical, live at Sandown Park are:
- Gates open at 4:00pm
- First race is due off at 5:45pm
- Last race is due off at 8:30pm
- Ministry of Sound Classical live on stage at approximately 8:45pm
The show is expected to last around an hour and a half, finishing at 10:15pm. This will be a show of light as well as sound. The beginning of the show depends on the final race completing on time as sometimes races overrun.
Horse Racing Action Before Ministry of Sound Classical
It goes without saying that the Ministry of Sound Classical show is worth the admission alone. If you are coming along however, remember that you gave the bonus of watching a full early evening race meeting first at one of the best turf courses in the country.
The full race schedule is not available just yet. When it’s announced, you can get all the runners and riders from your racecard on track (or digitally). Last year’s schedule, which is likely to be mostly replicated, was:
- Race 1 – 1-mile, 2-furlong handicap
- Race 2 – 5-furlong maiden stakes
- Race 3 – 1-mile, 6-furlong handicap
- Race 4 – 1-mile, 2-furlong handicap
- Race 5 – 1-mile handicap
- Race 6 – 7-furlong handicap
All the racing action can be seen easily from the stands. In fact, Sandown Park is known for being one of the best racetracks in Britain for being able to see the runners close up as they pass the line. Commentary is available throughout, while the large screen also shows the action so that you can keep tabs on your horse as it moves around the course. Bookmaking and Tote betting facilities, as well as plenty of food and drink outlets, are available in all enclosures.
As soon as the presentations are over after the final race and the jockeys have weighed in, the Ministry of Sound Classical show can start.
