Texas: Live After Evening Racing

Performing their ‘The Very Best of Texas’ show live, the legends who are Texas are on stage after racing at Sandown Park on Thursday, August 7th, 2025. Don’t miss iconic hits such as I Don’t Want a Lover, Black Eyed Boy and Say What You Want. Sharleen Spiteri and co. are headlining during Sandown’s 2025 music summer nights with a great late afternoon and early evening of racing to be enjoyed too.

Six races are taking place on the track before the band hits the stage. Gates are open from 4:30pm, the first race is due off at 5:45pm and Texas will be on stage around 8:30pm for a memorable gig.

Texas Live and Sandown Racing Timings & Location

Those coming to see Texas perform on August 7th will also get to witness some top-class sporting action. The racecourse is simple to find: enter easily from Esher railway station, only 25 minutes from Waterloo. You can take advantage of some outstanding facilities at Sandown. Great enclosures and grandstands, hospitality boxes and awesome food & drink outlets are all available. Wherever you enter, you can get a great view of the racing action and the stage for Texas Live.

Racing and Texas Live timings for Sandown Racecourse on August 7th:

  • Gates open at 4:30pm
  • First race is due off at 5:45pm
  • Last race is due off at 8:20pm
  • Texas Live is due to begin at 8:30pm

The band will be on stage for around 1½ hours, finishing up at around 10:00pm. Timings are subject to the last race not overrunning.

The stage is easy to find for the gig. Texas will be appearing in front of the grandstand. The stage setup is next to the trackside lawns and all at the track can attend.

If you’re coming along to see Texas perform live, you can also get the bonus of one of the best backdrops in sport. Sandown Park is one of the country’s top racecourses, hosting some of the best jockeys and trainers. They will be in action across six races.

Check your racecourse for all the information on the runners and riders, while the big screens will keep you updated of the odds. The full racecard is:

  • Race 1 (5:45) – 1-mile, 2-furlong handicap
  • Race 2 (6:15) – 5-furlong maiden stakes
  • Race 3 (6:45) – 1-mile maiden stakes
  • Race 4 (7:15) – 1-mile, 2-furlong handicap
  • Race 5 (7:45) – 7-furlong handicap
  • Race 6 (8:20) – 1-mile handicap

Sandown features some wonderful views from around the racecourse. If you’re on the rails, you will be as close as it is possible to get when the winners cross the line. Live commentary is audible around the course via the PA system, while the big screens play out all the action live from Sandown and beyond. The latest odds will also appear there.

Once all the presentations are made and the jockeys have weighed in after the final race, Texas will be taking the stage for 90 minutes of bona fide anthems on the big stage.
