Though famous for massive Monday nights, Windsor Racecourse is hosting its Summer Opening Party 2026 featuring Decade Explosion on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026. Windsor is kicking off its summer in the best way possible. The racecourse hosts its first Summer Saturday of the season with a mixture of sport and music. This promises to be one of the best outdoor events of the year.
Enjoy the live music, riverside vibes and outstanding thoroughbred turf racing action and betting all in one place. This is the ultimate Saturday atmosphere. After the final race is done, the party begins with Decade Explosions. The music theme brings together the best tunes from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 00’s. Windsor’s DJ set takes you on a journey throughout music with four decades of feel-good songs.
Summer Opening Party 2026 Timings & Location
Situated on Maidenhead Road, Windsor, the track is easy to find and is just 25 miles west of London in Berkshire. You can access the course by train using either Winsor & Eton Central or Winsor & Eton Riverside. You can even get there by boat!
Royal Windsor is one of the best-looking racecourses around. Go for a hospitality ticket if you want to posh it up, while the Riverside Boat Package is another popular one. General admission is also available, with all the music and horse racing served up on the day available to all.
Timings
Current race and event timings for Windsor’s Summer Opening Party featuring Decade Explosions are:
- Gates open at 3:30pm (TBC)
- First race is due off at 5:30pm (TBC)
- Last race is due off at 8:35pm (TBC)
- Decade Explosions begins after the final race
Once the final race is over, the dancing begins. Walk around the course and enclosures and see what’s on offer. You can’t miss the event stage – just follow the lights and the noise!

Racing Action During the Summer Opening Party
Until the fixture list is decided, the current start times are TBC. What we do know is that at least six races will be on the card, possibly even up to eight. Based on last year’s fixture, which is likely to be closely replicated, these are the sort of races to expect:
- Race 1 – 1-mile handicap
- Race 2 – 6-furlong maiden stakes
- Race 3 – 1-mile, 3½-furlong maiden stakes
- Race 4 – 6-furlong handicap
- Race 5 – 6-furlong handicap
- Race 6 – 1-mile, 3½-furlong handicap
- Race 7 – 1-mile handicap
Information for all the runners and riders will be in your racecard. You can pick up a physical copy or get it digitally. You can also track all the runners live and watch the latest betting via the big screen. Commentary is also available.
As the runners get closer to the line you can get a great view of the action from the rails. Make sure to also check out the horses, jockeys and trainers in the parade ring before each event.
