Cheltenham is the very home of jump racing. Every year, hundreds of thousands make the pilgrimage to Cheltenham Racecourse for March’s major festival, but the area is used for a lot more than horse racing. This track is considered the pinnacle. Every jumps trainer and Britain, Ireland and France wants to win at Cheltenham and its first-class facilities and large, open space means the venue has become adept at hosting non-racing events as well.
Set against the backdrop of the Cotswold Hills, the course at Prestbury Park is a sporting icon in itself. Cheltenham hosts the Champion Hurdle, Champion Chase, the Gold Cup and more. Aside from the Grand National, every major seasonal jumps race is hosted at Cheltenham Racecourse.
With both the New Course and the Old Course in the background, Cheltenham Racecourse hosts music festivals and concerts, community events, exhibitions, trade shows and more. If you’re a fan of the arts as well as the racing, this is certainly a venue worth visiting.
More Than Just the Home of the Cheltenham Gold Cup

That beautiful Gloucestershire countryside view is one of the things that keeps visitors coming back to Cheltenham Racecourse. You may not even be a fan of the racing, but there’s no doubt that this is one of the best hosts of shows and exhibitions anywhere in Britain.
Cheltenham Racecourse is just around a mile southwest of the town itself. The train station is only 15 minutes away with visitors choosing to stay there or in Prestbury, Pittville or in the Cotswold Hills. This is a top multi-purpose venue. As well as many top race meetings from October to May, Cheltenham Racecourse hosts running events, music concerts and more.
