Market Rasen is unique among Britain’s racecourses. Situated in Lincolnshire, the racetrack is known for its summer jumps racing but over time it has become about way more than equine sport. The first ever race at the current Market Rasen site was back in 1924. Since then, things have developed with the course hosting brilliant family fun days throughout the warmer months, along with live music concerts, fireworks nights, corporate events and exhibitions.
Artists of the calibre of Tom Jones and Madness have been booked to play at Market Rasen, the racecourse giving the ideal backdrop for amazing music nights. On the track, competitive National Hunt racing takes place across around 20 fixtures every year, shown live on Racing TV. Among the most popular are Market Rasen’s music & racing combo meetings featuring top artists, great acoustics and a terrific light show on the big stage.
More Than Just a Racing Venue
Typically of a racing venue, there is great space around Market Rasen Racecourse’s dedicated area which lends itself really well to non-racing events. This is especially true for live music shows during the summer months with a real festival feel being engendered.
The track is easy to find if you are coming to Market Rasen for a gig, an exhibition or an event. The racecourse is on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, a designated Area of Natural Beauty. Market Rasen station is only one mile from the racecourse with services between Lincoln, Grimsby and Newark North Gate available.
