On Friday, August 1st, 2025, Tom Jones performs live after racing at Newmarket Racecourse. The July Course is the venue for the eagerly awaited return of one of Britain’s best-loved performers after Friday evening racing in Suffolk.
Jones will perform a full headline set including some of his major hits, such as “Delilah”, “What’s New Pussycat?” and “It’s Not Unusual”. This is the first time the Welsh maestro has performed at Newmarket since his outstanding, sold-out set back in 2021 which formed part of his 80th birthday celebrations.
One of the world’s most famous and celebrated singers will be sharing a beautiful summer night of music on August 1st straight after the early evening racing. Attendees can take in some fine thoroughbred action at the home of British horse racing before being part of what promises to be a triumphant show and a wonderful atmosphere.
Tom Jones and Summer Racing Timings & Location
Racegoers and Tom Jones fans alike can take in an early evening of fine racing action before the main man hits the stage. Entrance is gained via the July Course as normal, simply follow the signs on arrival at the track.
The Newmarket July Course has lots of facilities to take advantage of before the concert, including the Premier Enclosure which features the best views of the parade ring and the track, the Garden Enclosure and the Champions Lawn. Timings of the day for Tom Jones live at Newmarket are:
- Gates open at 3:45pm
- First race is due off at 5:45pm
- Last race is due off at 8:30pm
- Tom Jones live is due to start at 8:50pm
Tom Jones is set for a two-hour show. The start time may change depending on the timely finish of racing.
Newmarket’s live event stage at the July Course is within the Premier Enclosure. The stage will be located between Grandstands 2 and 3, facing the track. In all fairness, you won’t be able to miss it!
Live Racing Before Tom Jones

Newmarket, the home of British Flat racing, has a great evening of sporting action planned before Tom Jones Live. Some of the country’s top jockeys and trainers will be in attendance. Six races are on the card, with information on all the runners and riders available on the official racecard which can be purchased on entry. A racing star of the future or two may be on show in race one. The full line-up is:
- Race 1 (5:45) – 6-furlong novice stakes
- Race 2 (6:20) – 6-furlong handicap
- Race 3 (6:55) – 7-furlong handicap
- Race 4 (7:27) – 1-mile, 2-furlong fillies’ novice stakes
- Race 5 (7:57) – 1-mile, 4-furlong fillies’ handicap
- Race 6 (8:30) – 1-mile handicap
Races 1, 2, 3 and 6 are run entirely on the straight course, known as the Bunbury Mile. All of the action will unfold in front of the stands with bookmakers and large screens available in all enclosures.
As soon as the presentations are made after the 8:30 race, all eyes will be on the stage with Tom Jones’ arrival imminent.
