One of Britain’s iconic horse racing venues is Haydock Park in Merseyside. Hosting both Flat and jumps racing, Haydock is the scene for one of the country’s Group 1 races, the Sprint Cup held each September. Haydock opened for racing in 1899. Having hosted thousands of top-class races since, it is also now known as an outstanding multi-purpose venue hosting music festivals and concerts, private parties, exhibitions, conferences and more.
Haydock is kept busy throughout the year. Some outstanding jumps racing is hosted during the winter, while in the summer some great turf Flat racing is held as well as the excellent non-racing events. Situated in beautiful parkland right on the border with Greater Manchester, Haydock Park can be accessed easily via the M6 with nearby train stations including Golborne and Newton-le-Willows.
More Than Just Horse Racing at Haydock Park

Haydock is perfect for non-racing events, especially for music concerts and festivals. The course is spacious and, owing to its professional sporting roots, the venue offers some top-class facilities for all visiting.
Haydock Park, officially in Merseyside, sits close to the East Lancashire Road and can be seen from the M6 motorway. The location is ideal for those around Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester though train routes service the area from even further away. Among the popular events at Haydock are its gigs in the summertime with chart-topping acts frequently visiting the course, including Tom Jones.
